Our Mission
We are a family owned Fine Art Portrait Studio located in Calgary, Alberta. We offer high quality photography for those looking for personal and commercial needs.
Personal needs: We strive to create beautiful family heirloom portrature. Our home-studio and off-camera lighting allow us to offer both indoor and outdoor sessions that will result in well-lit and well posed images. We want our sessions to be relaxed and enjoyable.
Commercial needs: We strive to meet our business client’s needs whether it is a head shot, images for their web site, or covering their events. We understand the importance of branding and will work with our clients to produce images with care and attention to detail.
Whatever Your Needs: Our promise to you is that we will listen to YOU and will capture images that you will love, or we will re-shoot the session.
Our Journey in Photography
Our photographic journey began in college and university while working on the yearbook committees and student newspapers. Next stop was a “non-profit” as their photographer with responsibilities for advertising and promotion. New destinations were added. We searched the backroads for the perfect landscape photo, for the abandoned home slipping into oblivion, and for the derelict auto journeying to rust heaven. We sold these images in art galleries.
Eventually, many requested us to photograph their milestone events, such as weddings, maternity, etc. Our jouney then changed direction. We decided to buy the equipment needed, and learn a new set of skills. With this, we entered into a whole new realm of photography. It was absolutely wonderful!!! The incredible people we met, many of whom we still photograph today, have enriched our lives. As the years went by, our wedding clients brought their newborns to us. As these babies grew, we had the joy of photographing many of them again and again. How quickly the time went by! We found ourselves photographing THEIR weddings.
We have successfully combined our careers and personal lives. We have two adult sons, two lovely daughters-in-laws and five grandchildren. As you might assume, and correctly so, this puts us in the “gray-haired” crowd. Both of us are graduates of the University of Calgary.

Why Hire Us
With so many photographers available, why hire us? To begin with, we are both professional photographers with years (and years) of experience. We are relaxed and easy to work with and love what we do. We are both members of Master Photographers International Organization. Joan has a Master Photographer designation in both Portrait Photography and Fine Art Photography. Keith has a Master Photographer designation in Fine Art Photography. Over the years, Joan has gained 13 accreditations in Canada, each in a challenging area of photography. Yearly, we challenge ourselves by entering the Master Photographer International competition and have been awarded for our portraiture and fine art images.
We have a fully equipped studio and office. We are one of only a few photographers in western Canada to have the Scene Machine, a specialized background projector that gives us the ability to change to any of our hundreds of backgrounds in seconds.
Also, we have invested in high end lighting for outdoor use. Our off-camera battery powered system produces wonderful light. No more “raccoon” eyes or blown skies.

Digital files are wonderful.
